Mother in law

1998 – France

On a winding uphill road, bordered by the void and the Southern pines, an improbable scene unfolds: a creaky Renault, overloaded with eclectic objects, speeds along. In the backseat, a laughing grandmother is literally strapped to a luggage rack, scarf blowing in the wind, birdcage in hand, as if propelled out of the frame — out of the conventions.

Inspired by a real altercation at a gas station between a cranky mother-in-law and her exasperated son-in-law, this photograph captures what many have secretly dreamed of. But rather than descending into meanness, Dingo turns the family conflict into a visual comedy, both tender and zany.

Everything is real here: the car is driving, the grandmother is real, the scarf is kept afloat by a fishing line held by an assistant running alongside, and the photo is shot on film on an open road. The absurd becomes performance. The staging becomes a testament to a time when people dared to be unfiltered, when creative freedom came through the moment, boldness… and a good dose of ingenuity.

The frozen expressions inside the car, between panic and uncontrollable laughter, tell a story of a typical French holiday comedy, both slapstick and universal. It’s an entire popular culture, a collective imagination of summer and “excess,” that steps into the lens.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
