Haying

2009 – Ladakh, Himalayas, India

At an altitude of around 3,700 metres, at the bend in a mountain road near an isolated village, men are busy haymaking. They are using a traditional threshing machine to separate the grain from the chaff, a manual process that evokes the agricultural methods of yesteryear in Europe, before the era of mechanization. In the background, the majestic Himalayan mountains rise up, their snow-capped peaks forming an impressive, serene backdrop. The photographer applied a custom filter to give this image a texture reminiscent of an engraving or drawing, transforming this rural scene into a timeless work of art. Fine lines and sharp contrasts highlight the details of the workers’ traditional clothing, the precise, rhythmic gestures of their labor, and the rustic tools they use. The etched or drawn effect lends the photograph a depth and richness of detail that captivates the eye. Every element, from the concentrated expressions of the men to the textures of the ears of wheat, is finely rendered, evoking a scene from another time. This image invites the viewer to reflect on the persistence of ancient traditions in remote regions of the world. It celebrates the beauty of manual labor and the resilience of mountain communities, while offering an artistic vision that transcends the merely documentary to touch on the universal and timeless.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
