On the side of a small country road, an absurd and hilarious scene is captured through the lens: a Renault 4CV overturned on its side, an elderly lady in the foreground holding an oversized steering wheel, overturned signs, papers scattered around, and in the background, a police officer and a photographer visibly delighted by the surrounding chaos.
Inspired by a true story — Dingo’s own mother, who failed the driving test seven times and caused an accident on her last attempt — this photograph is both a tender homage and an ironic critique of our relationship to norms, failure, and the car as a social rite.
Nothing has been retouched. The scene was completely improvised on site, in two hours, in the Normandy countryside, with the help of a friend whose father collected vintage cars. Everything is real: the overturned a Renault 4CV, the costumes, the props, the road blocked in broad daylight, and that wild energy unique to Dingo’s world. A 24mm lens emphasizes the comic perspective, especially the oversized steering wheel up close, symbolizing a lost control — or perhaps never had.
Behind the farce, there’s an obvious tenderness: this elderly lady, a maternal figure turned heroine of a tiny epic, embodies the dignity of those who fail with panache. The photograph oscillates between theatrical staging, slapstick humor, and popular art.
The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
