August 2024 – Dead Vlei, Sossusvlei, Namibia
In the oppressive silence of the Namib Desert, two petrified trees stand like sculptures frozen in time. Their dark silhouettes starkly contrast with the cracked white ground of the ancient dried-up clay pan and the fiery red dunes stretching endlessly beyond.
The opposition is striking: mineral against vegetal, stillness against movement. The interplay of colors and textures evokes both a timeless serenity and a silent struggle against oblivion. The clear blue sky adds a third dimension to this scene where time seems to stand still.
