Suspended speed

  • Photographer: ©
2002

In this composition, the artist proposes an unprecedented juxtaposition between human and machine. A man, seated comfortably in a flowing designer armchair, holds a glass of red wine and a cigar, symbols of refinement and contemplative slowness, facing a Mazda RX-8 suspended in mid-air. The vehicle, normally synonymous with speed and movement, is here frozen, almost sanctified, transformed into a floating work of art. The viewer becomes a distanced observer, contemplating the technical prowess and automotive design with the same devotion as that accorded to a master painting. The total absence of superfluous decor and the neutral background emphasize the dialogue between man and machine. This face-to-face encounter, orchestrated like a theatrical scene, prompts us to reflect on our fascination with the automobile object, which here passes from the status of a utilitarian tool to that of an object of worship. The car ‘s physical suspension strips it of its primary function, transforming it into a floating icon of modernity and power. The subtle lighting that sculpts the smooth, metallic forms of the car emphasizes its geometric perfection, while the relaxed attitude of the man facing it creates a contrast between the tension of the suspended object and the calm of the admirer. In this work, the notion of speed is paradoxically brought to a standstill, inviting a broader reflection on consumption, aesthetics and our relationship with technology. The scene poses a bold question: is art only to be found in galleries, or can it reside in everyday objects, redefined by our admiration for them?

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
