2017 – Cambodia
The sale price corresponds to the three elements of the triptych, 80 x 100 cm + 40 x 100 cm + 80 x 100 cm, i.e. a total of 100 x 200 cm (plus frame). In Cambodia, cyclists crossing muddy paths are dressed in outfits that evoke the colonial era, adding a historical and cultural dimension to the image. The photographic treatment emphasizes movement with a blurred effect, underlining the cyclists ‘ action and effort on the difficult terrain. The local earth, in its characteristic orange color, forms a distinctive foreground that contrasts with the cyclists ‘ outfits and reinforces the authentic, rural ambience of the scene. The bright, saturated colors highlight the texture of the mud and the liveliness of the environment, creating an atmosphere that is both lively and nostalgic, capturing the essence of the cycling experience in this unique region.
