The Francois Mitterrand library in the snow, designed byarchitect Dominique Perrault.
In the foreground, the cloister surrounds the garden, offering a space of contemplation and calm that serves the many reading rooms.
At the center of this urban oasis, a lush garden extends over almost a hectare.
Protected from human intervention, with the exception of landscaping, it offers a haven of peace for local flora and fauna.
Some birds, such as peregrine falcons, have found refuge here, finding a safe haven in a city that seemed hostile to them.
In the background, two of the four towers, symbolizing open books, delimit theesplanade.
The contrast between the tranquility of the snowy garden and themodern architecture of the towers evokes both the tranquility of reading and the advance of knowledge in the contemporary world.
