2017 – Ruins of Battambang, Cambodia
A poetic, timeless vision of the ruins of Battambang, where nature and history merge in subtle harmony. Thanks to an elaborate composition of several images and the application of a custom filter, the scene takes on the appearance of an almost monochrome illustration, enhanced by delicate shades of gray and green. Ancient ruins, enveloped by towering tree roots, loom in the background, evoking the inexorable passage of time and the resilience of nature. The eroded stones tell stories of vanished civilizations and the indomitable force of reborn life. The sinuous, powerful roots of the trees wrap themselves around the structures, creating complex, fascinating patterns, like nature’s benevolent embrace of the remnants of the past. At the center of this evocative composition, a little girl strides towards the temple entrance, holding a very large, closed umbrella under her arm. Her delicate, innocent figure contrasts with the majesty of the ruins and the sturdiness of the trees, adding a human, emotional dimension to the image. The little girl’s presence suggests a link between past and present, a bridge between ancient history and contemporary innocence. The custom filter used by the artist transforms this scene into an almost monochrome illustration, where details are subtly blurred, creating a dreamlike, ethereal atmosphere. The outlines of ruins and roots fade into shades of gray, while a few touches of pale green emerge, reminding us of the persistence of life in the midst of desolation. This restrained palette reinforces the impression of dream and nostalgia, as if the scene belonged to an ancient tale. The composition, based on several images, lends the work depth and visual richness. Each element seems both autonomous and integrated into the whole, creating a visual harmony that guides the viewer’s gaze through the fascinating details of the ruins and roots to the central figure of the little girl.
The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.
The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.
This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
