Advantages of the matted frame

Advantages of the Mat

The mat is an acid-free, highly light-resistant board used by museums. It is precisely cut at a 45° angle to create a slightly beveled and decorative edge.

The mat will have a 7 cm width on each side. As an essential element of this set, it enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it.

It is placed over the print to create a gap between the artwork and the museum glass, preventing any condensation issues.

It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. It elegantly emphasizes the print and gives it greater depth.

Protection with Museum Glass

The museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays.

With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it guarantees perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions, while preserving the colors and details of your photographic print, ensuring its longevity.

Steps of mat framing

How does it work?

  1. Preparation of the Photo Print

The full-frame photographic print ensures that the photo remains perfectly centered and aligned, even when hung on the wall. It is placed on a neutral pH board to prevent any acidity that could damage the artwork.

  2. Adding the Mat

A mat, or Marie-Louise, is placed over the unprinted white margin of the print to enhance and protect the artwork.

  3. Installing the Museum Glass

An anti-reflective and UV-protected glass is added to protect the artwork while ensuring perfect visibility.

  4. Selecting and Installing the Nielsen Frame

The NIELSEN frame, in black aluminum or wood, which you have selected, comes with a hanging system fixed to the back for quick, easy, and secure installation.
