Medical breakdown

  • Photographer: ©
1980 – France

This photo perfectly illustrates the facetious, surreal spirit of photographer Dingo, whose work transforms the banalities of everyday life into humorous, unexpected scenes. Here, the image plunges us into an absurd scenario: a broken-down ambulance on a deserted road, surrounded by scattered engine parts, evoking a medical procedure transformed into a clumsy car repair. The nurses, absorbed in repairing their ambulance ‘s engine, have left their patient in the lurch, who, fully bandaged like a mummy, takes the surprising initiative of hitching a ride, drip in hand, ready to continue his journey in an unconventional manner. Here, Goofy plays with the viewer’s expectations, capturing a scene that straddles the border between dream and reality, where the absurd takes over to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, while maintaining a light, joyful tone that leaves a lasting imprint of good humor. For the record, this shoot was organized by Dingo with an impressive deployment of equipment and spotlights, lighting up the stage in spectacular fashion. The installation was so visible that it was impossible not to realize that it was a photo shoot. Yet, despite this obvious paraphernalia, some passing motorists, totally absorbed by the scene, actually stopped to offer their help and accompany the fake casualty to hospital, thinking they were witnessing a real emergency. This unexpected reaction from passers-by underlines the extent to which Dingo manages to blur the line between fiction and reality, creating tableaux so convincing that even direct witnesses are drawn into his whimsical world. This anecdote reveals the magic of Dingo’s work: his ability to capture attention through humor and the unexpected, while telling stories that, however improbable, resonate deeply with human reality. The intricate installation and theatrical character of the scene testify to Dingo ‘s commitment to creating not just an image, but a living, interactive experience, where the viewer becomes, sometimes in spite of himself, a participant in the absurdity orchestrated by the artist.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
