Resplendent Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno)The Resplendent Quetzal is one of the most beautiful birds I’ve ever seen.Difficult to photograph, as it can stay in its nest all day, and only come out for a few minutes, always in the undergrowth.This bird is classified as “threatened” on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) red list, the main reason being habitat loss.It played a very important role in Mesoamerican mythology, being closely linked to the god Quetzalcóatl. It is the animal emblem of Guatemala, and features on the country’s flag.

Pigment inkjet print on Fine Art paper, supplied with Hahnemühle certificate of authenticity.
The print is laminated onto a 2 mm Dibond sheet and mounted in the floating frame to give it visual depth.
The Fine Art print is placed on neutral cardboard, then covered with a 7 cm beveled white mat and anti-reflective, UV-resistant museum glass, before being framed in black aluminum or wood (black, white, oak or wenge).
