2023 – Paris, France
The entrance to the Louvre metro station in Paris, an emblematic creation by Art Nouveau master Hector Guimard. This entrance, with its elegant curves, wrought-iron floral motifs and colored glass lampposts, embodies the refinement and beauty of this artistic movement. In reinterpreting this icon, the artist has deliberately stained and damaged the photograph, transforming the image into a contemporary work. The added degradations, such as paint splashes and wear marks, introduce a new visual dynamic that contrasts with the initial perfection of the Art Nouveau architecture. This contrast between the original elegance of the subway entrance and the intentional alterations creates a compelling artistic tension. The stains and damage seem to tell a story of transformation and reinvention, where past and present meet and dialogue. The work highlights the fragility of classical beauty in the face of the implacable passage of time and human intervention.
The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.
The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.
This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
