Cotentin Marshes

2022 – Cotentin Marshes, Normandy, France

The scene takes place on a drizzly winter’s day, when the surrounding fields are flooded, transforming the landscape into a vast mirror of water. In the foreground, the lock, then in the center of this watery expanse, a solitary boat floats, adding a poetic touch to the image. The boat, with its simple lines and modest appearance, becomes the focal point, drawing the eye and evoking stories of travel and contemplation. The flooded fields reflect the gray, dreary sky, multiplying shades of green, gray and pale blue, and accentuating the silent, introspective atmosphere of winter. The custom filter applied to this photograph transforms the scene into a real painting. Details blend subtly into one another, contours are slightly blurred, as if they had been brushed with light, precise brushstrokes. This technique reinforces the impression of reverie and timelessness, as each element seems suspended in contemplative tranquillity. The bare trees, with their dark, bare branches, stand like ghostly silhouettes around the lock and fields. Their presence adds a graphic and structural dimension to the image, framing the boat and accentuating the sense of solitude and calm. The absence of vivid color, with a palette dominated by tones of green, gray, white and cold blue, reinforces the wintry atmosphere and gives the work an almost monochromatic quality. This chromatic restriction highlights the subtleties of light and shadow, as well as the textural variations between water, grass and the wood of the boat.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
