2018 – Acatama Desert, Peru
The sale price corresponds to the two elements of the diptych. The diptych photo captures the spectacular expanse of Peru’s Atacama Desert, stretching for over 300 kilometers. In the center of the first image, an abandoned site is revealed as an old copper mine, bearing witness to the region’s past industrial history. The specific treatment of the image is particularly striking, using a custom filter that transforms the image into a representation reminiscent of an engraving or drawing. Strong contrasts and deep shades of gray accentuate the textures and details of the abandoned structure, creating an atmosphere that is both austere and artistic. In each part of the diptych, sharp lines and deep shadows play with the desert light, capturing the essence of the desolation and raw beauty of this extreme environment. It’s a poignant visual reflection on the passage of time and the ephemeral nature of human activity in landscapes as vast and timeless as those of the Atacama.
The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.
The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.
This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
