2016 – Matera, Italy
The ghost of Matera is a tribute to Paolo Pasolini, inspired by the film The Gospel according to St. Matthew, shot in these parts. The scene depicted is a canvas of deep contrasts and fine textures, reminiscent of a meticulously crafted engraving or drawing. The work uses a custom filter to intensify the play of light and shadow, creating a mysterious, timeless atmosphere. The ancient buildings, with their delicately sketched outlines, stand with austere majesty beneath the black sky. The cobblestones of the street, lit by a solitary lamppost, seem to tell ancient and sacred stories. A blurred, evanescent human silhouette adds a spiritual dimension to the scene, reminiscent of Pasolini’s biblical characters. This photograph transcends mere homage to become a work of art in its own right, where black and white serves not just to define forms but to invoke deep emotions and silent contemplation. “Tribute to Pasolini” is a window on the past, a reminiscence of the sacred and the profane, beautifully encapsulated in the interplay of light and shadow.

The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.
The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.
This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
