Prayer

2022 – Paris, France

A photograph sublimated into a painting filter, capturing a moment of deep introspection in the historical austerity of the Conciergerie. This moving work pays tribute to Queen Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France, who was incarcerated here prior to her execution, evoking both the gravity of her imprisonment and the poignant spiritual transcendence that evokes a moment of intimacy and spirituality, in the austere setting of the Conciergerie, a place steeped in history and memory. At center stage, a nun stands with her back to a small, modest table, on which rests a crucifix. The figure of the nun, dressed in her traditional religious garb, is captured in a moment of prayer or silent contemplation. The details of her silhouette are rendered with a subtle softness, contrasting with the harshness of the setting that surrounds her. The room in which she stands is small, and its Spartan character is accentuated by the faded, worn walls, witnesses of a painful past. The faded walls, marked by time and hardship, add a dimension of history and experience to the space. The modest, worn décor evokes the contrast between the simplicity of religious life and the harsh reality of prison conditions. A barred window lets in subdued natural light. The bars of the window, which we can make out, evoke the constraints and confinement that characterized the life of inmates in this historic prison. The passing light casts delicate shadows on the walls and floor, adding a dimension of depth and melancholy to the scene. The crucifix on the table, though modest in proportion, is the focal point of this spiritual composition. Its central presence, in a space so small and so steeped in history, symbolizes persistent hope and faith even in the darkest of times. The contrast between the object’s simplicity and the depth of its historical context accentuates its sacred, contemplative role.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
