Making a mandala

2014 – Zanskar, Himalayas, India

In the soft half-light of the monastery, two crouching monks are the center of this intimate scene. Their bent, concentrated faces and meticulous, respectful gestures are imbued with a profound serenity, their concentration palpable as they work on a complex mandala. Each monk rests his hands delicately on small cushions, carefully placed to ensure perfect precision in the creation of the mandala. The cushions, though subtle in their presence, play an essential role in providing stable support and maintaining the craftsmen’s concentration. The monks’ hands, visible in their attentive engagement, move with expert mastery, pouring colored powders with meticulous attention to every detail. The mandala, slowly emerging on the ground, is an ephemeral work of art taking shape beneath their fingers. Although the photograph is in black and white, the texture and complexity of the mandala are emphasized by variations in light and shadow. The geometric patterns and sacred symbols gradually take shape, creating a fascinating contrast with the dark monastery floor. The subdued light, barely penetrating the scene, accentuates the mystical, contemplative atmosphere of the moment. The absence of color, far from reducing the visual impact, accentuates the purity and concentration of the creative act.

Floating Frame

The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.

The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.

The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.

The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.

The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.

Frame with mat

This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.

The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.

Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.

This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
