Sunrise over the Takis Basin

January 2020 – La Défense, Paris, France
The photo offers a striking vision of Paris’s La Défense district at sunrise, where the brilliance of glass and concrete mingle with the soft morning light.
This imposing business district, the largest in Europe, is a veritable open-air museum, where contemporary art blends harmoniously with modern architecture.
In this composition against the light, in the heart of the historic axis, stands the emblematic work of Greek sculptor Panayotis Vassilakis, also known as Takis.
On a basin, 49 metal rods stand proudly, their ends adorned with geometric shapes which, although normally colored, here appear in black, accentuating the effect of the backlighting by being reflected in the water.
These “signals”, as Takis calls them, evoke an attempt to capture an invisible energy, a cosmic mystery that defies our understanding.
In the dawning light of sunrise, these metal structures stand out in sharp shadows, creating an atmosphere both mysterious and captivating.
The different types of frames and finishes available
The print comes with its certificate of authenticity and a Hahnemühle hologram affixed to the back.
The framing is left to your discretion.
The floating frame, sleek and modern, is one of the preferred framing choices for contemporary art galleries and museums.
The floating frame perfectly enhances your photographic print.
The spacing between the frame and the image creates a floating effect and highlights the image, making it an ideal art frame to maximize the depth and elegance of the artworks in our collection.
The print is mounted on a 2 mm Dibond panel and placed in the frame.
The depth of the floating frame is 4 cm, and the gap between the photograph and the inner edges of the frame is 0.8 cm for black or white finishes and 1 cm for wood finishes (Oak, Wenge, etc.). This arrangement creates a visually pleasing “floating” effect. Finally, a hanging system is attached to the back of the frame for a quick, easy, and secure installation.
This classic framing combines timeless elegance and sophistication, offering a sublime presentation for your most precious artworks and photographs. A wooden or aluminum frame, chosen for its simplicity and nobility, adds a touch of authenticity and refinement to your piece.
The mat, an essential element of this ensemble, enhances the artwork by creating a visual space around it. It highlights the details and nuances while adding extra depth. Carefully selected, it perfectly complements the artwork without overwhelming it, allowing every detail to stand out.
Finally, the museum glass, of exceptional quality, provides optimal protection against harmful elements such as dust, humidity, and UV rays. With its unmatched clarity and anti-reflective properties, it ensures perfect visibility from every angle, allowing your artwork to shine without distractions.
This harmonious ensemble transforms each piece into a masterpiece, ready to be admired and preserved for generations to come. Investing in a classic frame means choosing to enhance and protect what you cherish with unparalleled distinction.
